*Reminder for 2021 International Highland Spin In, Bothwell, Tasmania. Entries for the Longest Thread Competition 2021 will open on 01 May 2020 and will close on October 31, 2020. Our local West Australian, Julitha Barber, won the 2019 competition using her Ashford Traditional spinning wheel to achieve 986.886m of 2 ply from 10gms wool. Perhaps if you are looking for a covid project, you may consider spinning as fine a thread as you can [on spindle, manual, electric wheel] from 20gms fleece and send in an entry, If you need fleece, contact us, we are happy to send you superfine merino fleece, even just 50 or 100gms.
